Slowing Down

Life's been a bit crazy lately. Every fall semester I find it difficult to adjust. Going from 3 months of work and play and then suddenly having to fit school in there somewhere is always a difficult task. But things are finally beginning to slow down a bit though (thank the lord.) I'll try my best to fit in time for more blog posts. I'll be in Atlanta later this week, so there will be plenty of opportunity!

I leave for Atlanta bright and early Wednesday morning to attend a Free People Home Office recruiting event. It has always been my dream to work at the Navy Yard at Free People's Home Office and this may just be my chance to get my foot in the door. Wish me luck!

Harvard on a Sunday

My boyfriend and I spent our Sunday in Harvard Square. We rolled out of bed and were greeted by a beautiful crispy morning. I was finally able to pull out my tall boots and was able to throw on that extra layer. We had breakfast at Tory Row. I've been slowly easing myself back into eating solid foods so I got this amazing veggie frittata and some home fries.

Following breakfast we meandered through Harvard's campus, pretending we were every bit as smart as those guys. We finally made it to one of my favorite spots in Cambridge, the Museum of Natural History. While I could do without the creepy bug exhibit, the mineral and glass flower exhibits never get boring. In fact when Andrew told me he wanted to go I said "They have an awesome rock collection!" He thought I was being sarcastic, but I was completely serious.

Here's to good food, good company, and an awesome rock collection! Oh and to more Sundays like this one.

Recharge

I got my wisdom teeth taken out on Monday so I've been trying my best to take it easy. I stayed in bed for the most the day on Monday and Tuesday, but then I made the mistake of going a little too hard at work on Wednesday. Eating little but mashed potatoes and a smoothies was not enough to prepare my body for a long day at work.

I'm the type of person who just has to keep moving no matter what the obstacles. I very rarely allow myself the time to recharge. This past week has really shown me the importance of giving myself that time to recuperate. I need to remind myself to take care of myself, especially when my body isn't at its best.

This smoothie has been my salvation:

Two scoops of Whey powder, frozen mango, kale, coconut milk, and chia seeds.
