Merry Christmas!

This Christmas was probably the best I've had in a long time. The holidays are always hard for me, especially when my Dad's off to sea. It can be a bit lonely sometimes, but it is so important to remind myself that I'm not alone. I'm surrounded by some truly wonderful people. This Christmas was a great reminder of that. I am so blessed to have them all in my life.

Christmas Party 2014

It has been three years since we graduated high school, and we still manage to get together every year for our annual Christmas party. Some things never change.

Rise & Graphic Design

My Sunday consisted of glue, Scotch magic tape, scissors, and lots and lots of iced coffee. With this week being my last week of classes, it's go time. This is my "Graphic Design Journal." The contents include some observations of various forms of graphic design, my design process, class notes, and my papers. While having all of this info in the same place is a great idea, putting it all together is a job in itself.

I woke up around 9:30 exhausted from the week and the weekend itself, I amped myself up with an iced coffee and a bagel and worked all day until Jacky came home and talked me into taking a walk. I then returned and continued my work until 7:00pm. 

I'm not even done yet.

While I thought that I would actually enjoy my graphic design class, I was sadly mistaken. While graphic design itself interests me a great deal, something about this class and I simply did not click. Regardless, I did learn a lot and will take those lesson with me.

There has been a recent development in my taste in clothing. Sparkle. While I would never consider my style simple, sequins and glitter have really never been involved in my wardrobe. This holiday season however, things have changed. With the amount of beautiful, sparkly product we've been receiving at Free People Boston, how could I resist? 

I think that my sparkly discovery goes a little deeper than clothing itself. Things have been crazy to say the least. But in these last few stressful weeks, I feel that I have really come into my own. I now feel that I understand myself more, I know what I'm capable of, and I know that I have issues with not finishing what I start. These past months have been stressful to the max with work and school, but I can deal because it'll all be worth it in the end. In the end I will be shinning.  

Golden Quills

I have been in love with this jacket for two years and a fews weeks ago I finally took the plunge and bought it.

My Mom always told me "In the winter, coats are a very important staple. It's the first that people see you in. You want to make an impression." This has really stuck with me throughout the years. 

My Mom was full of fashion philosophy. 

Monday Mornings

Happy Monday, world! I hope everyone had a good weekend and feels happy and recharged for the coming week! 

My weekend was a little crazy. Having some downtime to see friends for the past few weekends has been amazing, but getting back in the school saddle has not been. Why do homework when I can just go through my photos from last weekend one more time? When am I seeing all my hometown friends again? Yeah, it's hard to return to projects and homework after having a good time off from it, even for a few days. The important thing is to live in the moment, I'll see my friends again soon. This is one challenge that I have experienced this semester at school. It has been very difficult for me to focus on my classes at times. I have to keep reminding myself that school is just a temporary part of my life, but it is something that I have to do.

Eggplant Fries For Days

If anyone were ever to want to stalk me, the best place to find me is in Refuge Cafe in Allston Village. I go there a lot to do homework and sip iced coffee. I could also sit there and eat their eggplant fries for days...

King Richard's Faire

If there is one fall tradition that I love, it's my annual trip to King Richard's Faire! What other fall activity allows you to dress up in medieval garb and wander around with a sword? I mean I guess…Halloween, but whatever. 

I've got to admit, this was my first time going to the faire since high school, but it honestly felt like I had never been away. The people and characters were still as friendly as they had been three years ago. 

We couldn't have asked for better weather either. We had originally planned on going to the faire couple weeks back, but were unable to due the rain. With the bright autumn sun shinning bright overhead, we walked through the fairgrounds, sipping hot apple cider and eating our giant turkey legs (not me…#vegetarianprobz) What better way to spend a sunny Sunday?
