This Christmas was probably the best I've had in a long time. The holidays are always hard for me, especially when my Dad's off to sea. It can be a bit lonely sometimes, but it is so important to remind myself that I'm not alone. I'm surrounded by some truly wonderful people. This Christmas was a great reminder of that. I am so blessed to have them all in my life.

Hello Singapore!
Hello Singapore!
I am finally here! I arrived here on Friday afternoon and I must say, that I have never had such a hard time dealing with jet lag in my life! It's steadily getting better though. I just can't wait to be able to sleep through the night!
Yesterday we went out for Sunday branch at a little place along the Singapore River called Toby's Estate. I was finally able to bring my camera and go crazy taking photos just like old times.
The food was amazing and the company even better. It has been nearly sixteen years since I have seen my family here in Singapore. The last time I saw them was when I came here with my Mom when I was six years old. Needless to say, a visit has been long overdue. I expect to spend the next 3 weeks exploring and getting to know my family.
I cannot wait to capture more of the adventures I will be having here in Singapore!

Thanksgiving
I hope that everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! I know I did. My Dad came home from sea this past Wednesday so he was able to be there for all of our Thanksgiving activities. It was a pretty low-key holiday; we spent the day at my aunt's house in Lincoln, Massachusetts among a family and friends. It was certainly one of the coldest Thanksgiving days that I have experienced in a while, but the house smelt like home cooking and warmth. I am always thankful to be surrounded by my family, seeing as our family seems to have shrunk such an enormous amount in the past few years. It is a comfort to know that I am not alone, especially during the holidays.
Always be reminded of the things that make you feel thankful to be living.

Family Portrait Sneak Peek!
Here is just a little sneak peek of the family portraits I did in Benson Park with Lexii and her family over Columbus Day weekend. I still have a ways to go, but I am really liking how they are coming out so far!
It was definitely "the" weekend to take family portraits. There must have been three other photographers there at the same time we were. Scouting out locations was a JOB. But we worked with what we got and I think that the photos came out pretty good.

Long Weekends
Long weekends are great. They make the fun part of the week longer and the less fun part a bit shorter (at least on paper.) I find them almost like a sanctuary from the stress of a normal week. The only real downside to a long weekend is how quickly they seem to pass. One second it's Friday and you're free for an extra day and the next thing you know it's time to get ready for the upcoming week.
This Columbus day weekend was fun while it lasted. I got to see my family as well as a few friends that I hadn't seen in quite a while. I got to eat real food (not from a dining hall), snuggle with a dog, craft my heart out, take some new photos, and simply just relax. I'm so sad that it is over, but I am so happy that I got to see some of my favorite people.
