Lighten Up

I'm going to start off the month of February the right way - by sharing a few of my favorite pieces from Free People. I have been obsessed with this brand for years and years. From the moment that I first set foot into one of their whimsical stores, I knew. Since I began working at the Boston store back in September I have come to collect a number of pieces that I go to everyday.

There really is nothing I love more than a pretty white dress (I must have at least 100 in my closet currently) and this Free People slip is no exception. I fell in love with it as soon as we received it at the store. I wear at least once a week! I can't wait for the warmer months when I can wear it just like this!

Whenever I like something that we have at the store, I make sure to take some time and think about whether or not I really want it or not. We get loads and loads of shipment in every week and of course I can't afford to buy everything…unfortunately. But there are some pieces that I just KNOW I have to buy.

I have been on a search for the perfect ankle boots for quite sometime now and when we received these at the store I knew they were the ones. I sat on it for about a week and then I caved and finally got them. And I am so glad I did! I have been wearing them nonstop ever since! They are just the perfect shade of cherry brown and they ankle straps are simply to die for.

The same goes for this amazing brimmed hat. I have a lot of wide-brimmed hats, but none quite like this one. The width of the brim is perfect for everyday wear. The majority of my hats are so wide that I can't even drive with them on! This one is simply perfection.

Alright that's enough Free People obsessing for one day. Enjoy your Saturday!

Good Ol' Tasty Burger

I went out for lunch with my Dad this afternoon. My Dad isn't home from work very often while I'm at school (he's a merchant marine for those who don't know me personally) so when he is we try to get together at least once a week to have lunch/dinner. I know he gets lonely being at our house in Tyngsboro so it's nice to see him when I'm in the city.

Today we got burgers (a veggie burger for me) at Tasty Burger. This place is bopping during baseball season being right in the shadow of Fenway Park, but even in the frigid months of winter this burger joint is more than a little busy. I've gone a little "Asian crazy" this past week, so having a good old Big Kahuna burger and fries was just what I needed.

Snow Day

A snowstorm hit Boston last night. This storm was supposed to be so big that it was given a name, but it really wasn't that bad of a storm. Classes were canceled for the day (although I wouldn't have ah class anyway.) I made my way to work in the morning where I got to spend some quality time with my coworkers. I left the store around 3:00 to find that the sky was a beautiful washed out blue and the sun was shinning bright. What a wonderful day in the city.

Here is a photo that I took on my phone on my walk home.

Little Moments

I know that it may be a bit late for me to talk about New Year's resolutions, but here it goes. It has been a pretty decent first two and a half weeks of 2014 for me. I have been surrounded by people that I love and admire and lately that is really all I can ask for. My resolution for 2014 is to take pleasure in the little things like sipping a cup of tea with a loved one or waking up with blurry eyes ready to seize the day. These are just little moments that make me realize just how much I love life. It is important to remember the little things in life that make it worth living especially when we feel that we have reached our lowest point.

Here are just a few images from my morning that I hope you will enjoy.

Happy Friday.

Happy (Belated) New Year!

A couple days late, but Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and I hope that 2014 has some amazing memories in store for everyone!
