Cape Cod

The last time I was on the Cape was when I was about 15, so going back at 22 was pretty refreshing. We were staying in Truro, which I found to be much less touristy than places like Hyannis or Provincetown. It was quiet and relaxing and exactly what I needed after a long summer of doing nothing but work. I just wish I could have had more time!

Traveler

(Free People skirt, tank, and sandals

There's nothing I love more than a cool print. When we first got this dress in-store back in March, I really liked it, but I wasn't sold yet. But then we received it in a new color this past week and it was all over. I even had dreams about it. The fabric is so soft and light, it makes the perfect summer skirt.

As most of you may know, yesterday marked to summer solstice and the first day of summer! no season like summer. I find that all the other season are spent waiting for summer to begin again. Maybe it's the fact that I was born during this hot and humid season? Maybe it's because my mother was from a very hot place? All I know is that summer is my favorite season for dressing and just all-in-all living.

Newport (Part 2)

Our last day in Newport was spent doing some last minute sight-seeing. We found an amazing little spot among the mansions; a small rock formation jetting out into the ocean. We swam in the water and paused to take same family photos. This was a much-needed trip. It really showed me that it doesn't matter where I go, it matters who I go there with. Being in Newport with my family was great because I was there with my family. I love them more than anything and being with me makes me realize that no matter how broken our family may seem, it is still a good one.

On Sunday, my family and I traveled to Newport, Rhode Island for a little getaway. I had never been there before and my aunt and uncle had, so they gave us the grand tour. On the first day we explored the Cliff Walk, toured the Newport mansions, and got attacked by red seaweed on the beach. It was great to get out of Massachusetts for a bit and explore a new place.

Beach Bums

On Wednesday my friends and I decided to take advantage of this heat wave and went to the beach. We spent the day soaking up the rays, wading through the water, and eating ice cream. It was too hot to do much else! I hope to spend some more time at the beach before I leave to go back the school. I also hope everyone is staying nice and cool!
